Why We Love:

We do the Big Love Show completely out of love for house music. It's for the DJs who spin it, the producers who make it, the parties that bring it, and the people who groove to it.

The Big Love Show has been slammin' for more than a decade. We called it "The Big Love Show" because of a certain house song called "Big Love" by Pete Heller from 1997 because it captures the entire essence of house music.

The Big Love Show evolved from a number of historic shows at KZSU. In 1992, Acid 88 brought the early-generation acid-house sound to Bay Area airwaves for the first time. And the first Winter Solstice Marathon in 1992 hosted an entire 24 hours of non-stop house music mixed by 12 now-legendary DJs.

Today, The Big Love Show is hosted by Jack, Princess D, Miss Piggy, and many friends. Guest DJs from all around the Bay Area and beyond spin live on the Big Love Show. Hundreds of guests have appeared over the past 10 years: amazing DJs, producers, promoters, and artists.

The sound is all the flavors of house - deep house, tech-house, acid, tribal, electro, dirty disco. Occasionally some other sounds seep in - techno, industrial, breaks, hip-house, and even a bit of progressive. But the fundamental basis, the heart & soul, is house music.
